Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers occurred at many places over Jammu & Kashmir; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at isolated places over Rajasthan, Saurashtra & Kutch, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Tamilnadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep Islands. Weather remained dry over rest of the country. The amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Kandla-­5; Golaghat-­3; Minicoy, Carnicobar & Hirakud­-2 each; Udaipur, Banihal, Batote, Kupwara, Pahalgaon, Bhuj, Portblair, Kailashahar, Mayabandar and Valparai-­1 each. 

♦ Yesterday, maximum temperatures were above normal by 2-­4°C at many places over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; a few places over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar & Gangetic West Bengal. They were below normal by 8-­13°C at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi; by 5-­7°C at many places over Punjab, rest Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh; at a few places over Rajasthan; by 2-­4°C at most places over Chhattisgarh; at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh; at a few places over Odisha & Tamilnadu; at isolated places over West Uttar Pradesh, and Assam & Meghalaya and near normal over rest of the country. Yesterday, highest Maximum temperature of 43.2°C recorded at Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh). 

Kalpana 1: Cloud imagery of 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Tamilnadu, south Arabian Sea, southeast & central Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and Lakshadweep. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
