♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall occurred at many places over northeastern states, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal & south interior Karnataka; and at a few places over north interior Karnataka and Kerala and at one or two places over south Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, south Chhattisgarh, Odisha, north interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Narsapur9; Gadag8; Pondicherry6; Machilipatnam4; Chitradurga, Portblair, Kakinada and Shillong3 each and Vijaywada, Kalingapatam and Lumding2 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Assam & Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, westcentral & southwest Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and eastcentral Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, rest parts of central, east, northeast and peninsular India.
♦ The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continues to pass through Lat. 29.0° N / Long. 81.0° E, Kheri, Kanpur, Guna, Ratlam, Vallabh Vidhyanagar, Porbandar, Lat. 21.0° N / Long. 67.0° E and Lat . 21.0°N / Long. 60.0° E.

♦ RAINFALL : Rainfall has occurred at many places over Nagaland,
Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, at a few
places over Assam, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, south Gujarat
and southwest Madhya and at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh,
east Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, coastal Odisha, north coastal
Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry
over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm
and above) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Half long8,
Lengpui6, Carnicobar, Surat, and Kailasharhar4 each, Vishakhapatnam,
Amreli2 each and Ramagundam Gulbarga, Puri Raisen, Indore and
Alirajpur1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective
clouds over parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Andhra
Pradesh, Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen
over rest parts of the country outside plains of northwest India,
Bihar and Gujarat.
♦ The southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from remaining parts of
Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan, some
more parts of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and north Arabian Sea and some
parts of west Madhya Pradesh.The withdrawal line passes through Lat.
29.0° N / Long. 81.0° E, Kheri, Kanpur, Guna, Ratlam, Vallabh
Vidhyanagar, Porbandar, Lat. 21.0° N / Long. 67.0° E and Lat . 21.0°N
/ Long. 60.0° E.
♦ Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of southwest
monsoon from remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, and north Arabian Sea,
some parts of Bihar and some more parts of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat
during next 23 day.

at a few places over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland,Manipur, Mizoram &
Tripura, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, north Andhra
Pradesh, Gujarat region, Tamilnadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and
at one or two places over rest parts of the country outside plains of
northwest India, Bihar, Jharkhand, east Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and
Lakshadweep where weather remained mainly dry. The chief amounts of
rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday
were: Passighat7; Tuni4; Maya Bandar3; Port Blair2; Long Islands,
Hosangabad and Cherrapunji1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective
clouds over parts of northeastern states, Marathawada, northcoastal
Andhra Pradesh, southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Low/medium
clouds are seen over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, West
Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, rest Andhra Pradesh, and interior Karnataka.
♦ An upper air anticyclonic circulation is persisting over south
Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat in lower levels. Satellite imagery and
the observations clearly indicate reduction in the moisture over parts
of northwest India. Thus conditions have become favourable for
withdrawal of southwest monsoon from parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab,
Haryana, Rajasthan and Saurashtra & Kutch during next 24 hours.
♦ The southwest monsoon was active over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam &
Meghalaya, Jharkhand and Marathwada during past 24 hours ending at
0830 hrs IST of yesterday.

West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, interior
Odisha and south Chhattisgarh; at a few places over Jharkhand, North
Andhra Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar islands and at one or two places
over rest parts of the country outside Punjab, Haryana, west
Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep where weather remained
mainly dry. The chief amounts of rainfall (3 cm and above) recorded at
1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Passighat11, Cherrapunji, Dhubri,
Betul, Machilipatnam and Karaikal 3 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective
clouds over parts of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh,
Vidarbha, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, northeastern states, central and
south Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the
country outside Punjab, Haryana, west Rajasthan and west Uttar
Pradesh.
♦ The southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Assam & Meghalaya and
Arunachal Pradesh and active over Andaman & Nicobar islands and
SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during past 24 Hrs ending at 0830
Hrs IST of yesterday.
♦ Satellite imagery and surface observation indicate considerable
decrease in moisture over extreme west Rajasthan, west Haryana and
Punjab making conditions conducive for withdrawal of Southwest monsoon
from West Rajasthan and adjoining areas around 24th September.
