Fog Watch
♦ Fog: Fog/shallow fog has also been observed at isolated pockets of Punjab, Delhi, east Uttar Pradesh,Bihar, Assam & Meghalaya and Tripura during early morning hours.
Cold Watch
♦ Yesterday's minimum temperatures were below 10°C at many places over western Himalayan regions,Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of north Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. The lowest minimum temperature of 5.0°C was recorded at Muzaffarnager (Uttar Pradesh) in plains of the country.
Main Weather Observations
♦ RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers occurred at many places over Tamilnadu and Kerala and at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep and weather remained dry/mainly dry over rest of the country. The amount of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Pamban6; Nedumbassery4 each; Nagappattinam and Chennai 3; Agathi2 and Attramapattinam, Karaikal, Aminidivi, Cuddalore and Agumbe1 each.
♦ Temperatures: Yesterday maximum temperatures were above normal by 24°C at many places over Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and northeastern states and at few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka. They were below normal by 24°C at a few places over coastal Tamilnadu and Kerala and isolated pockets of Bihar and Lakshadweep and nearly normal over rest parts of the country.
♦ Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of Tamilnadu,south & adjoining central Bay of Bengal and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, rest peninsular India.
