Fog Watch
♦ Fog: Dense to very dense fog (Visibility<200 m) has been observed at many places over Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over northwest Rajasthan. Fog/shallow fog also observed over isolated pockets of Bihar, SubHimalayan west Bengal and Tripura during morning hours. Visibility (<50 m) has been observed over Amritsar, Patiala, Hissar, Ganganagar, Delhi, and Lucknow during morning hours.
Cold Watch
♦ Cold wave conditions prevailed over some parts of interior Odisha and Madhya Maharashtra.
♦ Prevailing minimum temperatures were below 5°C at many places over western Himalayan regions and between 510°C at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand,northeastern states and interior Maharashtra; at a few places over Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan. The lowest minimum temperature of 3.6°C was recorded at Muzaffarnagar ( Uttar Pradesh) in plains of the country.
Main Weather Observations
♦ RAINFALL: Very light rain occurred at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Weather remained mainly dry/dry over rest parts of the country.
♦ Temperatures: Yesterday's Maximum temperatures were below normal by 24°C at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. They were above normal by 23°Cm at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gangetic west Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra and Karnataka and nearly normal over rest parts of the
country.
♦ Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of southwest Bay of Bengal, area and southwest Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, northeastern states, Andaman & Nicobar islands, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala,Tamilnadu and Lakshadweep.
