Weather News India 24 September 2013 Rainfall Forecast Report


RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers has occurred at most places  over Gujarat;  at many places  over Konkan & Goa and Andaman & Nicobar Islands;  at a few
places over west Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan and at isolated places  over Odisha, west Rajasthan, and northeastern states. Weather remained mainly dry/dry over rest parts of the country. The amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Dahanu­15; Bulsar­10; Gandhinagar­5; Mahuva and Bhuj­4 each; Diu­3; Idar, Ahmedabad and Surat­2 each and Nasik, Bhira, Mayabandar, Long Islands, Kota and Bhaunagar­1 each.

TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures are below normal by 2­8°C  at  many places over Gujarat, west Madhya   Pradesh   and   Rajasthan   and   at   a   few   places   over   interior   Maharashtra,   east   Madhya   Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. They are above normal by 2­5°C at many places West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh  and  northeastern  states; at  a few  places  over  Jammu & Kashmir,  coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu and  nearly normal over rest parts of the country.

♦   Kalpana­1:   Cloud   imagery   at   0530   hours   IST   shows   convective   clouds   over   some   parts   of   Gujarat, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Maharashtra, north Arabian Sea, central Bay of Bengal  and north
Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside  Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
