Weather News India 17 September 2013 Rainfall Forecast Report


RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers has occurred at most places over west coast; at many places over interior Maharashtra, interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh,   Chhattisgarh,   Andaman   &   Nicobar   Islands   and   Lakshadweep;  at  a  few   places  over Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha,   Meghalaya, Mizoram & Tripura and Tamilnadu and  at isolated places  over Madhya Pradesh,  Gujarat, east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, east Rajasthan,  Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. Weather remained  mainly dry/dry over rest parts of the country. The rainfall amounts (2 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are:  Bulsar­11; Daltonganj­9; Dahanu­7; Aurangabad and Kailashahar­ 6 each; Valparai, Jalgaon, Jeur and Raipur, Nedumbassery­5 each; Kochi, Minicoy, Alapuzha, Goa (Dabolim)and Mana­4 each; Puri, Paradip, Gaya, Buldana, Vellore,   Punalur and Karipur­3 each and Raichur, Narsapur, Karwar, Vengurla, Goa (Panjim), Malegaon, Nagpur, Anantapur, Gulbarga, Cannur, Thiruvananthapuram and Gopalpur­2 each.

♦  TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are above normal by 2­3°C over some parts of east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. They are below normal by 2­4°C over many parts of western Himalayan region, Punjab and Chhattisgarh. They are near  normal over rest parts of the
country.

Kalpana­1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of  Gangetic West Bengal, Manipur,   Mizoram,   Maharashtra,   Gujarat   region,   Andhra   Pradesh,   Karnataka,   Kerala,   Lakshadweep,   east Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of   the country
outside  Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan and Saurashtra & Kutch.
