Weather News India 16 September 2013 Rainfall Forecast Report


♦   Southwest monsoon  was  vigorous  over  north  interior Karnataka  and  active  over   Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Kerala.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers occurred at a few places  over   Jammu & Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Lakshadweep and  at isolated   places  over   Himachal   Pradesh,   Uttarakhand,   Madhya   Pradesh,   Chhattisgarh,   Odisha,   Assam   & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andaman & Nicobar islands, interior Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.  Mainly dry/dry  weather prevailed over rest parts of the country. The rainfall amounts (2 cm or more) recorded  at  1730  hours   IST   of  yesterday   were:  Sultanpur­8;  Bhubaneswar­6;   Kolhapur  and  Bulsar­5  each; Rangia, Karipur and Hyderabad­3 each and Shillong, Bhaderwah, Angul, Ambikapur and Behraich­2 each.
 
♦  TEMPERATURES: Maximum temperatures were above normal by 2­5°C over some parts of northwest, east and northeast India. They were below normal by 2­3°C at isolated pockets of east Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana and Tamilnadu  and near normal over rest parts of the country.

Kalpana­1:  Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of   Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, south Gujarat region, south Madhya Pradesh, south Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, east Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of
the country outside Haryana, west Rajasthan and Jharkhand.
