♦  Yesterday, southwest monsoon was active over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh,Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

♦   RAINFALL: Rain/thundershower   occurred at most places  over Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Haryana & Delhi, west Coast, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and  northeastern states; at many places over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Vidarbha, west Uttar Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal;  at a few   places  over north Andhra Pradesh,  interior Karnataka,  Gujarat,  east  Rajasthan,  east  Uttar Pradesh  and  at  isolated   places  over Tamilnadu, Telengana  and Andaman &  Nicobar  islands. The  chief  amounts  of  rainfall  (  4  cm  or more) recorded   at   1730   hours   IST   of   yesterday   were:   Ludhiana­11,   Amritsar­7,   Dehradun­6,   Sundernagar­5, Delhi(Ayanagar) and Shimla­4 each, Jammu, Agra, Patiala,Dharamshala, Mangalore(Bajpe), Jabalpur, Sagar and Delhi(Palam)­3 each.

TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­6°C over many parts of western Himalayan Region, Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan, Telangana, north interior Karnataka and Arunachal Pradesh. They were  above normal by 2­4°C at many parts of east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Andaman & Nicobar islands and nearly normal  over rest parts of the country.

♦  Kalpana­1: Cloud imagery at  0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of  Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab,  Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal,  coastal Andhra Pradesh and northeast Bay of Bengal. Low/ medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
