Weather News India 30 August 2013 Rainfall Forecast Report


Southwest monsoon was active over Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers occurred at many places over   Uttar   Pradesh,   east   Madhya   Pradesh,   Uttarakhand,   Chhattisgarh,   Konkan   &   Goa   and   Assam   & Meghalaya; at a few places over Odisha, West Bengal & Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Saurashtra & Kutch, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and at isolated  places over Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Lakshadweep. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Valparai­8; Varanasi­3; Bhira, Daltongunj, Cherrapunji, Champa, Khajuraho and Pendra­2 each.

TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­5°C at many places over Uttar Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh; at a few places over Chhattisgarh and Jammu & Kashmir. They were above normal by 2­3°C at many places over west coast, Gujarat and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and nearly
normal over rest parts of the country.

♦   Kalpana­1:  Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of south Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh,  north Madhya Pradesh, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, south  Arabian sea and comorin area.  Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
