♦   Southwest monsoon  was vigorous over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh and active over Odisha, west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Telangana.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershower  occurred at most places  over Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and   west coast; at many places  over Assam & Meghalaya, Sub­ Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha and interior Karnataka;  at a  few places  over Gujarat  state, east Rajasthan   and   Jharkhand   and  at   one   or   two   places  over   Bihar,   west   Uttar   Pradesh,   Haryana,   Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The chief amounts of rainfall (3 cm or more) recorded  at  1730  hours IST  of  yesterday  were: Shajapur­14; Mahabaleshwar­12; Pachmarhi­7;  Dehradun & Bramhapuri­6 each; Khandwa, Chandrapur and   Durg­5 each; Gondia, Ramagundam and Nizamabad­4 each and Shivpuri, Sheopur, Ujjain, Raigarh, Yeotmal, Nagpur, Golaghat, Haflong, Bhira, Buldana and Kota­3 each. 

TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­6°C over many places over Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Gujarat state and at a few places over east Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh   and  Jharkhand.   They were above normal by 2­4°C   at many places over   Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir and nearly normal over rest parts of the country.

♦   Kalpana­1:  Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab,   Rajasthan,   west   Uttar   Pradesh,   west   Madhya   Pradesh,   Gujarat,   Maharashtra,   Andhra   Pradesh, Karnataka,  northeastern States, southeast  Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and  east Arabian  Sea. Low/ medium
clouds are seen over rest parts of the country
