Weather News India 9 July 2013 Rainfall Forecast


TEMPERATURES:   Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­5°C over many parts of northwest India and some parts of west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, coastal Tamilnadu and Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. They were above normal by 2­3°C over some parts of south Chhattisgarh and Odisha and near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 40.2°C was reported at
Churu (Rajasthan) in the country.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers   occurred at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh, west  coast, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya;  at  a few  places  over  Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab,  Haryana,  Delhi,  east  Rajasthan, Bihar, Sub­ Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Lakshadweep and at one or two places over rest parts of the country outside Uttar Pradesh,  west  Rajasthan,  Jharkhand,  Gangetic West Bengal Vidarbha  and Tamilnadu  where  weather remained mainly dry. The chief amounts of rainfall (3 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Patiala and Mandla­6 each; Una­5; Bahraich and Harnai­4 each; Ayanagar (Delhi), Panjim, Satara, Passighat, Cherrapunji and Karwar­3 each.

♦   Kalpana­1:Cloud   imagery   at   0530   hours   IST   shows   convective   clouds   over   parts   of   Haryana,   east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and southeast Arabian sea. Low/ medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Saurashtra & Kutch, and Odisha.
