Weather News India 8 July 2013 Rainfall Forecast


TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­5°C at many places over east Rajasthan, Konkan & Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh and at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. They were above normal by 2­5°C at many places over Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Vidarbha and nearly normal over rest parts of the country.

RAINFALL:  Rain/thundershowers   occurred at most places over Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar islands; at many places over Uttar Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal  Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Saurashtra & Kutchh and Lakshadweep; at a few places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, interior Maharashtra and east Rajasthan and at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Tamilnadu, interior Karnataka, Punjab and Haryana. Weather  remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Bareilly­9;  Honavar  and Kakinada­6; Karwar, Karipur  and Behraich­5  each; Vengurla,  Harnai, Shirali, Goa,  Cannur, Mangalore, Siliguri and Vansthali­4 each; Car Nicobar, Kozhikode, Agumbe, Solan and New Kandla­3; Ratnagiri, Cherrapunji, Panambur, Valpari, Alibag, Sundernagar, Pendra and Dharmshala­2 each.

♦  Kalpana­1:Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab,  Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya,  Andhra
Pradesh, Tamilnadu,  south Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, southeast Arabian sea and Lakshadweep. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
