Weather News India 30 July 2013 Rainfall Forecast Report


♦  Southwest monsoon was vigorous over Gangetic West Bengal and east Rajasthan and active over west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershower occurred  at many places over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat state, Konkan & Goa and coastal Karnataka; at a few places over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand  and at one or two  places over  Punjab,
Haryana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and east Rajasthan.  Weather was mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (4 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were:  New Kandla,16; Jamshedpur­9; Delhi (Ridge)­7; Ludhiana, Kandla and Narnaul­3 each and Meerut, Jharsuguda, Bhaunagar, Baripada and Delhi (Palam)­2 each.

TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures were below normal by 3­6°C at many places over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat and Rajasthan and a few places over interior Karnataka. They were above normal by 2­4°C at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir and nearly normal over rest parts of the country.

♦   Kalpana­1:  Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of east Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal,  Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andaman Sea,   northwest and central Bay of Bengal. Low/ medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
