♦   Southwest  monsoon   was   vigorous  over  west   Rajasthan   and   active  over   east   Rajasthan,   Madhya Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershower occurred  at many places over Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra and Lakshadweep; at a few places over Gujarat state,  east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and  Jharkhand  and at one or
two  places over  West Bengal & Sikkim, interior  Karnataka and  Vidarbha. Weather was mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were:   Guna­13,   Tikamgarh­5,  Kota, Katra,  Chandigarh  and  Kolkatta­3  each   and  Mumbai(Colaba)  and Dehradun­2 each.

TEMPERATURES:  Maximum  temperatures were below normal by 3­6°C at many places over  Madhya Pradesh and they were above normal by 2­4°C at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir and north eastern states and nearly normal over rest parts of the country.

♦  Kalpana­1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of  western Himalayan region, Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, west  Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, coastal Karnataka, coastal Tamilnadu, north Andaman Sea, Bay of Bengal, northeast & southeast Arabian sea. Low/ medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Bihar, Mizoram and Tripura.
