TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures were above normal by 2­3°C over many parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal, & Sikkim northeastern states, east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. They were below normal by 6­8°C   over some parts of interior Peninsular India and 2­5°C over most parts of remaining north peninsular India and near normal over rest parts of the country.

♦ Southwest monsoon  was  vigorous  over Telangana  and north  interior Karnataka and  active  over Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Chhattisgarh,  Odisha, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and south interior Karnataka.

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershower occurred  at most places  along west  coast and  interior Maharashtra;  at many places  over   Gangetic west Bengal,Odisha, east Madhya Pradesh and   Gujarat  state;  at a  few places  over western Himalayan  region   and Chhattisgarh;  at isolated places  over  rest  parts  of the  country  outside   west Rajasthan where weather remain mainly dry. The chief amounts of rainfall (3 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were:   Tanabelapur­14;   Mumbai(Scz)­11;   Mumbai(Colaba)   and   Bhira­8   each;   Dahanu­7;   Ratnagiri   and Jalgaon­6  each; Mukteshwar, Mahabaleshwar and Agumbe­5 each; Wardha, Parbhani  and Durg­4  each; Buldana, Deesa, Port Blair, Kolkata, Alibag, Pachmarhi and Panagarh­3 each.


♦  Kalpana­1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jammu division of Jammu   &  Kashmir,  Gujarat,   Madhya  Pradesh,   east  Bihar,   Maharashtra,   Arunachal   Pradesh,  Assam  & Meghalaya, Mizoram, Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and east Arabian Sea. Low/ medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
