Weather News India 19 July 2013 Rainfall Forecast Report


RAINFALL:Rain/thundershower occurred at most places over western Himalayan region, Haryana & Delhi and along west coast;  at many places  over west Uttar Pradesh,  coastal  Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra  and  Lakshadweep;  at  a  few  places  over Punjab,  east Rajasthan, West Bengal & Sikkim, interior Karnataka and north coastal Andhra Pradesh and at one or two places over rest parts of the country.  The chief amounts of rainfall (3 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Delhi(sfd)­12; Delhi(Palam)­7; Mahabaleshwar, Rewa, Agra and Una­5 each; Mumbai(Scz), Nowgong, Gondia  and Shirali­4 each; Harnai, Srinagar, Ganganagar, Churu, Amritsar, Paradip, Valparai, Mangalore and Medikeri­3 each.

TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­4°C over many parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka and some parts of Telangana and Rayalaseema. They were above normal by 2­3°C over many parts of east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, west Assam, Nagaland and Manipur and
near normal over rest parts of the country.

♦  Kalpana­1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of  Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya,  extreme  south  peninsular India, Bay  of Bengal, Andaman  sea  and  east Arabian  sea.  Low/ medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
