♦ TEMPERATURES: Yesterday's heat wave conditions prevailed over some parts of north Rajasthan and isolated pockets of north Madhya Pradesh. Stations where maximum temperatures more than 45°C were : Churu, Bikaner, Sheopur and Ganganagar. Minimum temperatures are above normal by 25°C over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, south Rajasthan, and isolated pocket of west Uttar Pradesh and Sub Himalayan west Bengal. They are below normal by 25°C over many parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, west Madhya Pradesh, West coast, Gujarat state and coastal Andhra Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country.
♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall occurred at a most places over Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala; at many places over Assam & Meghalaya and coastal Andhra Pradesh ; at few places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha and south Gujarat and at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and interior Peninsular India. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (3 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Tanabelapur14, Ratnagiri12, Harnai9, Vengurla and Nellore8 each, Burdwan, Puri and Mumbai(SCZ)7 each, Vishakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Tinsukia, Cherrapunji, Mahuva, Bulsar and Koraput6 each, Mumba(CLB) and Alibag5 each, Surat, Kochi, Kailashahar, Kohima, Ujjain and Phulbani4 each, Agartala, Minicoy Thiruvanathapuram, Mangalore, Chaparmukh, Deomali, Titlagarh, Dhanu and Shajapur3 each.
♦ Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of Assam & Meghalaya, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal, north Andaman sea and east Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Punjab.
