♦ TEMPERATURES: Yesterday's maximum temperatures were above normal by 23°
C over many parts of Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and some parts of west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Tamilnadu and northeastern states. They were below normal by 58° C over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal and by 24° C over some parts of Bihar, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, south Chhattisgarh, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 45.5°C was recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).
♦ RAINFALL:Rainfall/thundershowers occurred at a few places over West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam & Meghalaya, Tripura, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamilnadu and Kerala. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Chandbali5, Balasore and Paradip4 each, Jamshedpur, Digha and Midnapore2 each and Keongjhargarh, Panagarh, Kolkatta, Guwahati, Mahabaleshwar, Kochin, Kodaikanal and Hyderabad1 each.
♦ Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and southeast & eastcentral Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan region, west Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, south Chhattisgarh, subHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, northeastern states and rest peninsular India.
