♦ TEMPERATURES: Today, severe heat wave conditions prevailed over many parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. Heat wave conditions also prevailed over many parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, south Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. The stations, where maximum temperatures are recorded more than 46.0°C are: Vishakhapatnam47.0, Tuni46.9, Sundargarh46.7, Banda46.4, Durg46.2, Hirakud46.1, Hissar, Bhawanipatna, Kakinada and Vijayawada46.0 each. Maximum Temperature are above normal by 68°C over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and coastal Andhra Pradesh. They are above normal by 35°C over parts of Uttarakhand, north Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Interior Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu. They are below normal by 46°C over parts of Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Kerala and near normal over rest parts of the country.
♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall/thundershowers occurred at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Kerala and at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Tamilnadu and Lakshadweep. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The rainfall amounts of (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Mayabandar20, Alleppy10, Cochin(Nedumbassery)8,Long Island5, Nancowry2, Kottayam, Agathi, Punalur1 each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Kerala, Tamilnadu, east Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and southeast & westcentral Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest western Himalayan region, east, northeast and south peninsular India.
Forecast for Next 3 Days:
♦ Duststoms/thunderstorms would occur at one or two places over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours.
♦ Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Jammu & Kashmir and at one or two places over
Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
♦ Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at a few places over West Bengal & Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
.♦ Rain/thundershowers would occur at one or two places over Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.
♦ Rain/thundershowers would occur at a few places over Kerala and Lakshadweep and at one or two places over Karnataka, south Konkan & Goa, Rayalaseema and Tamilnadu.
♦ Maximum temperature would fall by about 23°C over northwest, west and adjoining central India during
next 23 days leading to subsiding of prevailing heat wave conditions over these regions.
♦ Maximum temperature would rise further by 12°C over Odisha, Chhattisgarh and north Andhra Pradesh.
♦ Weather would be mainly dry over rest parts of the country.
