TEMPERATURES: Yesterday, severe heat wave conditions prevailed over most parts of Punjab, Haryana & Delhi, north Rajasthan and Vidarbha and some parts of north Madhya Pradesh and south Chhattisgarh. Heat wave conditions were also prevailed over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, south Uttar Pradesh, Marathawada, interior Odisha and north & coastal Andhra Pradesh.Maximum temperatures of 47.0 deg;C or more recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Ganganagar and Chandrapur48.2 each; Amraoti48.0, Nagpur47.9, Bramhapuri47.6,
Amritsar and Churu47.2, Rentachintala47.1 and Wardha47.0. Today, minimum temperatures are above normal by 24° C over many parts of northwest India and some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Andhra Pradesh. They are near normal over rest parts of the country.

RAINFALL: Rainfall/thundershowers has occurred at most places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Assam & Meghalaya; at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and Kerala and at one or two places over east Bihar, northcoastal Odisha, Tamilnadu and Lakshadweep. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The rainfall amounts of (1 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Bhagalpur6, Golaghat5, Bangalore4, Jalpaiguri, Carnicobar, Agartala and Guwahati3 each; North Lakhimpur, Thiruvanthapuram, Darjeeling, Jorhat, Itanagar and Goalpara2 each and Majbat, Kohima, Silchar, Dibrugarh, Mandya, Behrampur, Mayabander, Nancowry, Dharmapur, Vellore and Thiruvanthapuram(AP)1each.

CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Bihar, West Bengal, Tripura, southeast & northeast Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and south Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of northeastern states and over peninsular India.
