TEMPERATURES: Yesterday, severe heat wave conditions prevailed over most parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana & Delhi and north Rajasthan. Heat wave conditions also prevaiiled over some parts of rest Rajasthan, south Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, interior Odisha, Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Maximum temperatures of 47.0°C or more recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Ganganagar48.6,
Amritsar48.0, Dholpur & Rentachintala47.5 each, Hissar, Churu & Chandrapur47.3
each, New Delhi(Palam)47.2 and Nowgong & Delhi(Ayanagar)47.0 each.
Maximum temperatures were above normal by 79° C over most parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. They were above normal by 46° C over Haryana & Delhi, north Rajasthan, south Uttar Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh,Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, interior Odisha, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Tamilnadu. They were below normal by 24° C over parts of Bihar & Assam and are near normal over rest parts of the country.

RAINFALL: Rainfall/thundershowers occurred at one or two places over Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, northeastern states and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The rainfall amounts of (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Canning2, Diamond Harbour, Berhampore & Imphal 1each. 

CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, southeast & northeast Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and south Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen
over parts Bihar, Odisha and rest northeastern states.
