Weather India 21 May 2013 Rainfall Forecast


TEMPERATURES: Severe heat wave conditions were prevailing in most parts of Punjab and isolated pockets of interior Odisha and Haryana. Heat wave conditions were prevailing in most parts of Vidarbha; many parts of Rajasthan; some parts of rest Haryana, southwest Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, rest interior Odisha and western
Himalayan region. Maximum temperatures recorded above 47.0°C of today were: Churu48.2, Chandrapur47.9, Amraoti47.8, Nagpur47.5 and Wardha47.2. Maximum temperatures were above normal by 23° C over many parts of rest of the country except northeast Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and north interior Karnataka where they were below normal by 24° C.
RAINFALL:Rainfall/thundershowers occurred at a few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Meghalaya, Nagaland & Tripura, south Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka,Tamilnadu and Kerala. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Port Blair4; Dharmapuri and Tirupattur2 each and Agartala, Hut Bay and Bangalore1each.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of coastal Odisha, northwest & southeast Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Jammu &
Kashmir, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, rest Odisha, northeastern States, Karnataka, Kerala and north Andhra Pradesh.
