TEMPERATURES: Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in Punjab and in some parts of Odisha, Haryana. Heat wave conditions prevailed in Vidarbha and in some parts of Jharkhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu and remaining parts of Haryana.
Maximum temperatures recorded above 47.0°C at: Chandrapur47.9° C, Churu47.6°
C, Banda47.4° C, Nagpur47.3° C,Amraoti47.2° C. Minimum temperatures are above normal by 46° C over parts of western Himalayan region, Rajasthan & Telangana; they are above normal by 23° C over parts of rest northwest India and central India. They are below normal by 24° C over parts of Arunachal Pradesh and west Bengal. They are near normal over rest parts of the country.
RAINFALL:Rainfall/thundershowers has occurred at most places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at many places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal & Sikkim and Kerala and at one or two places over Karnataka & Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Mayabander16, Bankura, Panagarh, Kolkata(Dum Dum), Coimbatore, Palakkod3 each, Gangtok, Kolkata(ALP) Basirghat, Behrampur2 each and Nancowry, Canning, Karipur, Kupwara, Goalpara, Portblair and Bijapur1each.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Bihar, south & east central Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of northeastern States, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Kerala.
