Weather India 13 May 2013 Rainfall Forecast


TEMPERATURES: Yesterday, maximum temperatures were recorded above normal by 24° C at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Meghalaya, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and coastal Karnataka. They were below normal by 1014° C at many places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand; by 69° C at many places over Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab; at many places by 25° C over Rajasthan, Haryana & Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh and at a few places at Arunachal Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and interior Karnataka. The highest maximum temperature 44.9°C wasrecorded at Allahabad( Uttar Pradesh) in the country.
RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers occurred at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and northeastern states and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh; at one or two places over Rajasthan, Kerala, Lakshadweep. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hrs. IST of yesterday were: Kailashahar and Guwahati4 each; Dibrugarh and Behraich3 each; Kakinada, Car Nicobar, Burdwan and Panagarh2 each; Dharmshala, Tehri, Cherrapunji, Shantiniketan, Long Islands, Hut Bay, Batote and Kupwara1 each.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of south Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, southwest & central Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Western Himalayan region, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, rest Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattishgarh, rest Peninsular India and northeastern states.
