Weather in India 9 May 2013 Rainfall Forecast


TEMPERATURES: Heat wave conditions were prevailing over many parts of Vidarbha and isolated pockets of east Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and interior Odisha. Maximum temperatures were above normal by 24° C over many parts of the country outside Bihar, subHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and northeastern states where they were below normal by 25° C and near normal over some parts of west Rajasthan, Gujarat region and south Andhra Pradesh. The highest maximum temperature of 46.3°C was recorded at Nagpur (Maharashtra) in the country.
RAINFALL:Rain/thundershowers occurred at most places over Mizoram and Tripura; at a few places over Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and south Tamilnadu and at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Telengana, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Agartala11; Lengpui7; Palayankottai3; Kailashahar and Lumding2 each and Silchar and Shillong1 each.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, interior Karnataka, south Bay of Bengal, Andaman sea and southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, coastal Odisha, Sikkim, rest peninsula and rest northeastern states.
