TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 24° C over some parts of northeastern states, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra. They are above normal by 23° C over many parts of western Himalayan region and Rajasthan ; some parts of west Madhya Pradesh and Tamilnadu and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 16.0°C has been recorded at Rewa (Madhya Pradesh) in plains of the country.
RAINFALL: Rain/thundershower has occurred at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, northeastern states and SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and at a few places over Tamilnadu and at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, Kerala and northern parts of West Bengal. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more ) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Palayankottai6, Yerkuad, Udhagamandalam, Goalpara, Tezpur, K.Paramathy, Agartala, Gulmarg, Kupwara and Lumding3 each; Kailashahar, Silchar, Langpoi and Darjeeling2 each and Imphal, Srinagar, Katra, Pahalgam, Kukernag, Pasighat, Haflong, Tangla, Siliguri and Mandya1 each.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over many parts of Jammu & Kashmir, northeastern states and Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds over parts of rest western Himalayan region, Punjab, north Rajasthan, rest northeastern states and extreme south peninsular India.
