TEMPERATURE: Minimum temperatures are above normal by 36° C over many parts of plains of northwest and central India, some parts of west India and isolated pockets of Bihar, Jharkhand and Tamilnadu. They are below normal by 12° C over some parts of Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 8.0°C has been recorded at Sikar (Rajasthan) in plains of the country.

RAINFALL
: Rain/snow has occurred at most places with heavy to very heavy snowfall at one or two places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershowers occurred at many places over Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh; at a few places over Haryana, Punjab, west Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and at one or two places over north Gujarat and east Madhya Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevailed over rest of the country. The significant amounts of rainfall ( in cm) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are:Tehri and Banihal6 each, Kalpa Delhi(Safdarjung & Ridge) and Batote5 each, Dehradun, Lucknow and Meerut4 each, Delhi(Palam & Ayanagar), Narnaul, Dharmshala, Kupwara, Bhaderwa, QaziGund, Bhuntar, Jhansi and Khajuraho3 each, Pahalgaon, Katra, Shimla, Solan, Nahan, Fursatganj, Nowgong, Tikamgarh, Gulmarg, Bahraich and Datia2 each and Manali, Kokernag, Jammu, Sundernagar, Srinagar, Mukteshwar, Patiala, Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Guna, Shajapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh and Pilani1 each.

CLOUDS:
Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over many parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and south Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, east Rajasthan, rest Uttar Pradesh and Tamilnadu.
