Weather News India 28 January 2013 Climate Forecast Report


TEMPERATURE: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 25° C over many parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattishgarh, west Bengal and northeastern states. They are above normal by 24° C over some parts of west Rajasthan and peninsular India and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 2.0°C has been recorded at Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) in plains of the country.

RAINFALL:
(From 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today): Rainfall occur at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Light rain/snow occur at one or two places of Jammu & Kashmir. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country.
♦ CLOUDS:
Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows low/medium clouds over western Himalayan region, plains of northwest India, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, east India and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

The upper air cyclonic circulation over Assam and neighbourhood extending upto 2.1 km above mean sea level persists.

The western disturbances as a trough in westerlies over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood is moving away eastwards.

The trough of low pressure area from southeast Bay of Bengal to eastcentral Bay of Bengal across Andaman & Nicobar Island persists.

A fresh western disturbance would effect western Himalayan region from 30th.
