TEMPERATURE: AT 0830 IST of today, minimum temperatures were below normal by 35° C at a few places over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and at isolated places over Vidarbha, Uttarakhand, Konkan & Goa, east Rajasthan and Assam & Meghalaya. They were above normal by 26° C at a few places Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana and at isolated places over interior Karnataka and Gujarat. The lowest minimum temperature of 2.2°C was recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in plains of the country. ♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall has occurred at a few places over Vidarbha and at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The significant amount of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 0830 hours of today are: Carnicobar and Wardha2 each and Brahmapuri1.

CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over many parts of south Bay of Bengal and south Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telengana, Kerala, Andaman & Nicobar islands and Lakshadweep. ♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura now lies over Arunachal Pradesh and neighbourhood in the lower levels.
♦ The trough of low pressure area at mean sea level now runs from westcentral Bay of Bengal to comorin area across southwest Bay of Bengal.
♦ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Vidarbha & neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep area has become less marked.
