Weather News India 9 December 2012 Climate Report Forecast


♦   TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 2­3°C over   isolated pockets  of Punjab,  Gangetic West Bengal  and  south  interior Karnataka.  They  are above normal by 5­8°C over some parts of west & central India; by 2­4°C over rest parts of west & central India and over some parts of Rajasthan and northeastern states and near normal over rest of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 4.0°C has been recorded at Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) in plains of  the country.
♦   RAINFALL: Weather remained mainly dry over the country.
♦   CLOUDS: Kalpana­1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over  some parts of  south Bay of Bengal and south Arabian sea. Low/medium
clouds are seen over western Himalayan region, Arunachal Pradesh and south peninsular India.
♦   The western disturbance as an upper air system over Jammu  & Kashmir and neighbourhood is moving away eastwards.
♦   The trough  of   low  pressure  area  extends  from  southeast to  eastcentral Arabian Sea with embedded cyclonic circulation over southeast Arabian sea and
adjoining   Comorin   area   in   lower   levels   now   extends   from   southeast   to eastcentral Arabian sea in lower levels.
♦  Northwesterly winds are prevailing over Indo­Gangetic plains.
♦  A fresh western disturbance would affect western Himalayan region around 11th onwards.
