TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 23° C over some parts of Konkan & north Karnataka and isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh and
Uttrakhand. They are above normal by 36° C over most parts of the country outside rest western Himalayan region, over south peninsular India and northeastern states,
where they are near normal. The lowest minimum temperature of 8.2°C has been recorded at Karnal (Haryana) in the plains of the country.
RAINFALL: Light rain/ snow has occurred at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Rainfall has occurred at one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Punjab; light rain over Haryana, Delhi, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Assam. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of western Himalayan region, southeast Bay of Bengal, south Andaman Sea and
southeast Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest western Himalayan region and parts of Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya
Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, northeastern States and south peninsular India.
♦ The western disturbance as an upper air system over north Pakistan & neighbourhood now lies over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir with an induced upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan and neighbourhood.
♦ The trough in lower levels extending from southeast to eastcentral Arabian Sea has become less marked. However, an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over southeast and adjoining southwest Arabian Sea in lower levels.
♦ The trough extends from Arunachal Pradesh to north Bay of Bengal in lower levels now extends from east Bihar to northeast Bay of Bengal in lower levels.
