TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are below normal by about 4°C over isolated pockets of Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh; by 23° C over some parts of rest Haryana & west Uttar Pradesh and some parts of north Rajasthan, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Vidarbha. They are above normal by 24° C over many parts of Gujarat and some parts of south Rajasthan, north interior Karnataka, Telangana and coastal Tamilnadu and near normal over rest of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 3.8°C has been recorded at Adampur (Punjab) in plains of the country.
RAINFALL: : Rainfall has occurred at many places over south Andhra Pradesh, north Tamilnadu and at a few places over south interior Karnataka and at one or two places over Kerala and rest Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over rest of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) has been recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Nellore11 Tirupathi7, Arogyavaram3, Vellore, Bangaluru, Thiruvanthapuram2 each and Chennai, Mysore and Medikeri1 each.
CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, south Andhra Pradesh and southeast Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest western Himalayan region, plains of northwest, central, east & northeast India and rest peninsular India.
♦ The western disturbance as an upper air system lies over north Pakistan and neighbourhood.
♦ The trough of low pressure area extends from southeast to eastcentral Arabian Sea with embedded upper air cyclonic circulation over comorin area and neighbourhood persists.
♦ The trough of low pressure area extends from southwest to westcentral Bay of Bengal also persists.
♦ Northwesterly winds are prevailing over IndoGangetic plains.
