♦ TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures are below normal by 23° C over some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Konkan & Goa, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and west Assam. They are above normal by 23° C over isolated pockets of west Rajasthan, north interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu and near normal over rest parts of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 9.0°C has been recorded at Amritsar (Punjab) in plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall has occurred at many places over south Tamilnadu and Kerala and at one two places over Karnataka, Assam, Mizoram, Gangetic West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The chief amounts of rainfall observed ( 1 cm and more): Pamban4, Tuticorin and Gadag3 each; Palayankottai2; Kochi and Tondi1
each.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0830 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of southeast Arabian Sea, south Bay of Bengal, south Andaman sea and extreme south Peninsular India. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Jammu & Kashmir and rest Peninsular India.
♦ The trough of low at mean sea level from comorin area to eastcentral Arabian Sea persists.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and neighbourhood now lies over Assam & Meghalaya and neighbourhood in lower level persists.
♦ Dry northwesterly winds are prevailing over IndoGangetic plains in the lower levels.
