♦ TEMPERATURES: Yesterday, the maximum temperatures were below normal by 23° C over some parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, south Assam and isolated pockets of Gujarat region, north Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Manipur. They were above normal by 23° C over some parts of western Himalayan region, peninsular India, rest Assam, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and near normal over rest of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 35.0°C was recorded at Bhira (Maharashtra) in plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall occurred at one or two places over Kerala, Tamilnadu, Odisha, Jharkhand, Manipur and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Chennai2 and Thiruvananthapuram1.
♦ Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Kerala, coastal Karnataka, southeast Arabian Sea, Comorin area, southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan region, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, northeastern states and rest south peninsular India.
♦ The upper air cyclonic circulation over coastal Karnataka and neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level persists.
♦ The trough in lower levels from Assam & Meghalaya to coastal Karnataka across Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh persists.
