♦ RAINFALL: Rainfall occurred at most places over West Coast; at many
places over west Uttar Pradesh, north Andhra Pradesh and northeastern
states; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Punjab,
Haryana, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat,
Chhattisgarh Odisha and south interior Karnataka and at one or two
places over rest parts
of the country outside Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal
and Tamilnadu where weather remained mainly dry. The chief amounts of
rainfall (2 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday
were: Koraput6, Thiruvananthapuram4, Agumbe, Jorhat, Pune,
Sriganganagar, Panambur and Honavor3 each Dahanu, Kanyakumari,
Arogyavaram, Mangalore, Bhira, Shirali, Agathi, Kavarathi and Hardoi2
each.
♦ Southwest monsoon was vigorous over coastal Karnataka and active
over Konkan & Goa, south interior Karnataka, Kerala, SubHimalayan West
Bengal & Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during past 24 hours
ending at 0830 hours IST of 29082012.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective
clouds over parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Andhra
Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala,northeastern states, SubHimalayan West
Bengal, central & south Bay of Bengal Andaman Sea and east Arabian
Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.
♦ Southwest monsoon was vigorous over coastal Karnataka and active

Bengal & Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during past 24 hours
ending at 0830 hours IST of 29082012..
