♦ Rainfall occurred at many places over Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan
and Meghalaya; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh,
Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland,
Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and
at one or two places over Uttarakhand, West Bengal & Sikkim,
Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat states, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha,
coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and
Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country.
The chief amounts of rainfall (2 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours
IST of yesterday were: Churu8, Sidhi and Sheopuri6 each, Amritsar and
Lucknow5 each, Hissar and Khajuraho3 each, Mukteshwar, Katra, Pilani,
Delhi Ridge), Bareilly, Shillong, Cherrapunji, Rajgarh and Nowgong2
each.
♦ The southwest monsoon was vigorous over Himachal Pradesh, east
Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh and active over Andaman & Nicobar
Islands, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, West
Bengal & Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi & Chandigarh,
east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha during past 24 hours
ending at 0830 hours IST of yesterday.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1: Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective
clouds over parts of north Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar,
SubHimalayan West Bengal, Meghalaya, northeast, eastcentral & south
Bay of Bengal and southeast Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen
over rest parts of the country.
