• Southwest monsoon was vigorous over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and
Punjab and active
over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh,
Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and
Telangana during past 24 hours.
• The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of
north Arabian Sea,
Gujarat State, Rajasthan, Haryana including Delhi, Punjab and
remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh. The Northern Limit of Monsoon
(NLM) passes through Lat 23.0°N/Long. 60.0° E, Lat 23.0°N/Long.
65.0°E, Naliya, Bhuj, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Narnaul, Rohtak, Patiala,
Ludhiana and Amritsar on 7th July 2012.
• Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon
into some more parts of
Gujarat State, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab during next 2-3 days.
• The Satellite Kalpana-1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows
convective clouds over some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh,
east, central & northeast India, south Andhra Pradesh, south
Karnataka, eastcentral Arabian Sea, north, central & southeast
Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest
parts of the country.
