Monsoon News India 6 July 2012 Rainfall Report Forecast


·Southwest monsoon was active over Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during past 24 hours.
·Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Gujarat region, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh, most parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, entire Jammu & Kashmir and some parts of east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat 22.0°N/ Long. 60.0° E, Lat 22.0°N/ Long. 65.0°E, 22.0°N/ Long. 68.0°E, Jamnagar, Ahmadabad, Kota, Dholpur, Bareilly, Dehradun, Shimla and Jammu on 5thth July 2012.
·Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Gujarat State, Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and remaining parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and some parts of Haryana (including Delhi) and Punjab during next 2-3 days.
·The Satellite Kalpana-1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam, northeast Arabian Sea, eastcentral Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Punjab.
