Monsoon News India 1 June 2012 Rainfall Report
- Southwest Monsoon advanced into southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea on 23rdrd May 2012.
- The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat 5.0° N/ Long. 70.0° E, Lat 5.0° N/ Long. 75.0° E, Lat 7.0° N/ Long. 80.0° E (near Colombo), Lat 10.0° N/ Long. 86.0° E, Lat 14.0° N/ Long. 91.0° E and Lat 16.0° N/ Long. 96.0° E on 1st June.
- Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some parts of southeast Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maldives and Comorin areas and southwest Bay of Bengal during next 2-3 days.
- Rainfall distribution is shown in The Satellite Kalpana-1 cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of northeastern states, West Bengal & Sikkim, north Bay of Bengal, Comorin area and south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Gujarat, Rajasthan and west Maharashtra.
