SYNOPSIS: AT 2:00 AM TODAY, THE LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) WAS ESTIMATED BASED ON SATELLITE AND SURFACE DATA AT 540 KM WEST OF METRO MANILA (14.0 N, 115.5 E). INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE (ITCZ) AFFECTING PALAWAN AND MINDANAO.

FORECAST: THE WESTERN SECTION OF LUZON AND MINDANAO WILL EXPERIENCE MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL HAVE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS MOSTLY IN THE AFTERNOON OR EVENING. LIGHT TO MODERATE WINDS BLOWING FROM THE SOUTHEAST TO SOUTH WILL PREVAIL OVER LUZON AND COMING FROM THE SOUTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST OVER THE REST OF THE COUNTRY. THE COASTAL WATERS THROUGHOUT THE ARCHIPELAGO WILL BE SLIGHT TO MODERATE.
