TEMPERATURES: Yesterday, Heat wave conditions are prevailing over some parts of Bihar. Maximum temperatures rose by 25° C over many parts of West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and by 23° C over some parts of Jammu & Kashmir, east Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Orissa; fell by 23° C over many parts of Delhi & adjoining Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. They were above normal by 26° C over many parts of Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, Jharkhand and Orissa and by 23° C over some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, northeastern states and Andhra Pradesh; below normal by 25° C over many parts of Rajasthan and some parts of Haryana, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh and by 23° C over some parts of Gujarat and west Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 44.2°C was recorded at Khajuraho (Madhya Pradesh) in the country.
 
RAINFALL : Rainfall occurred at many places over Arunachal Pradesh; at a few places over Assam & Meghalaya, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at one or two places over Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Tamilnadu. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Minicoy4, Cherrapunji and Nagapattinam3 each and Passighat, North Lakhimpur, Kailashahar and Karaikal2 each.
 
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of extreme north Jammu & kashmir, south Assam & adjoining Manipur, Andaman Sea, southeast Bay of Bengal and southwest Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest western Himalayan region, west Uttar Pradesh, rest northeastern states, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh and south peninsular India.
