Monsoon News: Conditions have become favourable for advance of southwest monsoon over Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal during next 23 days.
 TEMPERATURES: As per yesterday's maximum heat wave conditions are prevailing over some parts of Vidarbha and isolated pockets of northeast Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and north Chhattisgarh. Yesterday maximum temperatures rose by 24° C over some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal and isolated pockets of Bihar, Saurashtra and Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema,; fell by 26° C over many parts of Assam and isolated pockets of Jammu & Kashmir, south Madhya Maharashtra, north interior Tamilnadu and north interior Karnataka, by 23° C over isolated pockets SubHimalayan West Bengal and changed a little elsewhere. They were above normal by 24° C over many parts of Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Punjab, Bihar, north Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and isolated pockets of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, north Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Vidarbha, Telengana, Rayalaseema and north Tamilnadu; below normal by 25° C over isolated pockets of south Madhya Maharashtra and south Tamilnadu and near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 46.3°C was recorded at Bramhapuri (Maharashtra).
CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over some arts of north Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Meghalaya, Andaman Sea, northeast, central & south Bay of Bengal, and south Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country outside Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
 RAINFALL :Rainfall has occurred at many places over Jammu & kashmir, at few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Sikkim, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Lakshadweep. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Carnicobar13, Hut Bay6, Lumding2 and Pahalgam, Itanagar, Cherrapunji and Deomali 1 each.
