Weather Report 19 December 2011 Indian Climate Forecast



♦  Fog:  Dense to very dense fog has been observed over many parts of  Uttar Pradesh, some parts of north Haryana and at isolated pockets over  Punjab   in morning hours of today.  The stations where visibility reduced to 50 m or less  at 0830 hours IST of today are: Allahabad, Varanasi, Fursatganj, Kanpur, Barabanki, Hardoi, Fatehgarh, Bareilly, Meerut, Karnal, Ambala and Patiala.
♦  TEMPERATURES:  Cold day conditions are prevailing over most parts of Uttar Pradesh. The stations where maximum temperatures are recorded 16°C or less at 1730 hrs IST of today are: Meerut, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur,  Hardoi, Kanpur, Fursatganj, Sultanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Gorakhpur. Maximum temperatures fell by 2­6°C over Uttar Pradesh and by 1­2°C over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and changed a little elsewhere in the country.  They are below normal by 6­11°C over many parts of Uttar Pradesh and by 2­6°C over some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal and rest Uttar Pradesh. They are above normal by 2­3°C over some parts of Saurashtra  & Kutch, Rajasthan, central and south peninsular  India and are near  normal over  rest parts  of the country. The
highest maximum temperature of 35.0°C has been recorded at Karwar (Coastal Karnataka) in the country.
♦ RAINFALL  (from 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today):   Light rainfall has occurred at a   few places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at one or two places over Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over rest
of the country.
♦   CLOUDS:  Kalpana­1  Cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of north Jammu  & Kashmir, Tamilnadu, south  Bay  of Bengal, south  Andaman  Sea  and  southwest Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of  rest western Himalayan region, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and rest south peninsular India.
