♦ Fog ; At 0530 hours of today dense to very dense fog has been observed over some parts of east Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Bihar and subHimalayan West Bengal. The stations where visibility reduced to 50m or less are Bahraich, Lucknow, Sultanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Gaya and Malda.
♦ TEMPERATURES: Yesterday maximum temperatures were below normal by 36°C over many parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal & Sikkim and by 12°C over some parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. They were above normal by 2 3°C over some parts of Andhra Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday the highest maximum temperature of 35.6°C was recorded at Mangalore (Karnataka) in the plains of the country.
♦ RAINFALL (from 0830 hours IST to1730 hours IST of yesterday ): Rainfall occurred at a few places over Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amount of rainfall (1 cm & above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday was: Vedaranniyam1.
♦ CLOUDS: Kalpana1 Cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of north Jammu & Kashmir, south Bay of Bengal and south Arabian sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of rest western Himalayan region, Sikkim, northeastern states, Gujarat, south Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and south peninsular India.
