Weather Report 11 December 2011 India Climate Forecast



♦  RAINFALL (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today):  Rainfall has occurred at  many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, at a few places over Assam and Tamilnadu and at one or two places over southcoastal Andhra Pradesh. The chief amount of rainfall (1 cm & above) recorded at 0830 hours IST of today are: Passighat and Vedaranniyam­3 each, Jorhat and Pamban­2 each  and Long Islands­1.

♦  TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperature fell by 3­5°C over many parts of Punjab, Haryana, east Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.  Minimum temperatures are below normal by 2­3°C over some parts of east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.  They are above normal by 2­4°C over some parts of east, northeast and Peninsular India and near normal over rest of the country. The lowest minimum temperature of 4.6°C has been recorded at Churu (Rajasthan) in plains of the
country.

♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 Cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of south Bay of Bengal and south Arabian sea.  Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of  Western Himalayan region, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and south  peninsular India.
