Weather Report Forecast 26 November 2011 India Climate



♦ FOG: At 0830 hours IST of today, shallow fog was observed over  isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh and extreme north Rajasthan.
RAINFALL: 
♦  Northeast monsoon is vigorous over Tamilnadu.
♦  Rainfall has occurred at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places over coastal Tamilnadu, at most places over interior Tamilnadu, at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Kerala. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more ) recorded at 0830 hours IST of  today are: Cuddalore­14, Atiramapattinam­9, Tondi­12, Karaikal and Minambakkam­10 each, Nagapattinam­9, Vedaranniyam­8, Chennai (Numgambakkam) and Puducherry­7 each, Tirupathi­4, Pamban and Tiruchirapalli­3, Thiruvananthapuram (city), Kodaikanal, Car Nicobar and Hut Bay­2 each and Vellore, Tuticorin, Yercaud, Port Blair and Nan Cowry­1 each.
♦  TEMPERATURES: Minimum temperatures fell by 2­3°C over many parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab,
Haryana and northwest Rajasthan, rose by 2­3°C over some parts of south Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and changed a little elsewhere. They are below normal by 2­5°C over many parts of northwest and adjoining west central & east India and some parts of south Maharashtra, south Peninsular India and Andaman & Nicobar islands and above normal by 2­3°C over isolated pockets of northeastern states,north Maharashtra and extreme south Tamilnadu. They are near normal over rest parts of the country. The  lowest minimum temperature of 9.6°C has been recorded at Najibabad (Uttar Pradesh) in plains of the country.
♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 1430 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Kerala,
Tamilnadu, Rayalaseema,  south coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka, south Bay of Bengal, south Andaman Sea, Comorin area and south & eastcentral Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan region, Maharashtra and rest south Peninsular India.



Weather Warnings: Heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at a few places over coastal Tamilnadu and heavy rainfall at one or two places over interior Tamilnadu, Kerala and Lakshdweep.
