RAINFALL (from 0830 to 1730 hours IST of  today): Rainfall has  occurred at many  places over Lakshadweep; at a few places over  Tamilnadu and Rayalaseema and at one or  two places over  Kerala, interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar islands. Weather remained mainly dry over rest parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more ) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Belgaum, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Agathi and Car Nicobar­1 each.

♦   TEMPERATURES:  Maximum temperatures  rose by 2­3°C over  parts  of north Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, south Kerala and south Tamilnadu; fell by 2­3°C over parts of east Uttar Pradesh,   Bihar,   Saurashtra,   east   Madhya   Pradesh   and   west   central   Maharashtra   and   changed   little elsewhere.   They   are   above   normal   by   2­5°C   over   parts   of   western   Himalayan   region,   West   Bengal, northeastern   states,   south   Madhya   Pradesh,   Orissa,   Maharashtra,   Telengana,  coastal   Andhra   Pradesh, Kerala and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and below normal by 2­3°C over parts of Punjab, Haryana, east Uttar Pradesh and Rayalseema.   They are near normal over rest parts of the country. The   highest  maximum temperature of 34.7°C has been recorded at Nizamabad (Andhra Pradesh) in the country.

♦  CLOUDS: Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Gujarat, west
Madhya Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala, southwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal, Comorin area and north, central & southeast Arabian Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of  western Himalayan region, south Rajasthan, northeastern states, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Maharashtra and rest peninsular India.
