Monsoon Watch:

♦ The withdrawal line of monsoon continues to pass through Lat. 27.0°N / Long. 84.0°E, Balia, Umaria,
Jabalpur, Indore, Baroda, Veraval, Lat. 21.0°N / Long. 65.0°E and Lat. 21.0°N / Long. 60.0°E.

Main Weather Observations:

♦ From 0830 to 1730 hours IST of yesterday, scattered rainfall occured over Telangana and isolated over
Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamilnadu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Weather remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above)
recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Daltonganj and Atiramapattinam­3 each, Nizamabad and Car
Nicobar­2 each and Nagapattinam and Vedaranniyam­1 each.
♦ Maximum Temperatures were above normal by 2­3°C over parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, east
Orissa, Vidarbha, Goa, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, south Karnataka & adjoining Tamilnadu and south Kerala;
below normal by 2­3°C over parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana and Rayalaseema
and near normal over remaining parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature of 37.9°C was recorded
at Palayankottai ( Tamilnadu).
♦ Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of eastcentral & south Bay of
Bengal and south Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of Jammu & Kashmir, northeastern
states, east and peninsular India.
