♦ The withdrawal line of monsoon continues to pass through Lat. 27.0°N / Long.
84.0°E, Balia, Umaria, Jabalpur, Indore, Baroda, Veraval, Lat. 21.0°N / Long.
65.0°E and Lat. 21.0°N / Long. 60.0°E.


Main Weather Observations

♦ From 0830 hours IST to 1730 hours IST of yesterday, scattered rainfall has
occurred over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and isolated over Himachal Pradesh,
Uttarakhand, northeastern states, interior Karnataka, Gujarat region, Madhya
Maharashtra, Marathawada, Rayalaseema and Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly
dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above)
recorded at 1730 hours IST of yesterday were: Dharmapuri­3, Osmanabad and Shimla­
2 each and Pune and Una­1 each.
♦ Yesterday maximum temperatures were below normal by 2­3°C over Rajasthan
and Gujarat and were above normal 2­4°C over northeastern states, sub­Himalayan
West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and were near normal elsewhere in
the country. Highest maximum temperature of 38.9°C was recorded at
Nellore(Andhra Pradesh).
♦ Kalpana­1 cloud imagery at 0530 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of
north Tamilnadu, northeast & southwest Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea.
Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan region, northeastern
states, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and south
peninsular India.
