♦ The withdrawal line of monsoon continues to pass through Lat. 27.0°N / Long.
84.0°E, Balia, Umaria, Jabalpur, Indore, Baroda, Veraval, Lat. 21.0°N / Long.
65.0°E and Lat. 21.0°N / Long. 60.0°E.
Main Weather Observations:
♦ From 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today, scattered rainfall has occurred over Nagaland,
Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and north interior Karnataka and isolated over western Himalayan
region, Bihar, Assam & Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and
Tamilnadu. Weather remained mainly dry over remaining parts of the country. The chief
amounts of rainfall (1 cm and above) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Kodaikanal9,
Gadag3, Lumding and Bangalore2 each and Mahabaleshwar1.
♦ Maximum temperatures are above normal by 35°C over most parts of northeastern states
& adjoining east India and Andhra Pradesh, below normal by 35°C over most parts of west
Rajasthan and near normal over rest parts of the country. The highest maximum temperature in
the country is 38.1°C recorded at Nellore (Andhra Pradesh).
♦ The minimum temperatures were near normal over the country. The lowest minimum
temperature in plains of the country was 17.0°C recorded at Malanjkhand (Madhya Pradesh).
♦ Kalpana1 cloud imagery at 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over parts of Mizoram,
Karnataka, Kerala & adjoining southeast Arabian Sea, Tamilnadu, southeast Bay of Bengal and
north Andaman Sea. Low/medium clouds are seen over parts of western Himalayan Region,
rest northeastern states, west Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
